Aha - now I see a method to your madness. Your guilty pleasures were research!

Hmmm, not really - all I've got is a title and a logline: "Patrick Bateman rampages through the pages of Hello! magazine" Spiritually uplifting it ain't!

Makes me wonder about something (there's a surprise!). Consider the alternative to the films this prize wants: films that further the influence of moral degradation and are generally dispiriting. My entry will be called 'Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it'. (That's a quote, by the way.)

Let me know if you ever sell that script, Jon - sounds like the sort of film I'd love.

Seriously though, whenver I hear the words 'spiritually upifting', I tend to think of of born again christians and run screaming to nearest hills.

I know what you mean about the phrase. It has that awful feel of forced rejoicing (and paper party hats and being told to have a national day of celebration or similar) and seems to be something that the British in particular seem to have a serious antipathy towards.
